Classika Sport and Fitness
Our Services

Put simply, we help you see results from
your workouts. You provide the motivation
and we will provide the information and
expertise to make sure you are on the right
path to hitting your goals.

Clients have any number of goals -- from
fitting into a certain dress to losing a certain
amount of weight to improving sports
performance -- and we will work with you to
meet those goals. In addition to
client-specific goals, our focus is on
improving many of the client's major aspects
of fitness: strength, endurance, agility,
balance, core stability, and mobility
(flexibility).
Personal Training

Classika Sport and Fitness specializes in helping people transform their bodies
and regaining their health. Don't be intimidated by the world of fitness, and
don't delay another day! We love to work with people who might be out of
shape now but want to see a firmer, stronger body in the coming months.

Sport Performance Training

We also like to work with athletes seeking to increase their strength, mobility,
and explosive power. Athletes in explosive sports like volleyball, tennis,
basketball, wrestling, and baseball/softball are most benefited by Classika's
training.

Employee Fitness Program

Businesses seeking ways to help their employees reduce workplace strains and
pulls have the option of sending small groups of employees to us for basic
personal training, or for a specialized workout based on the employees' job
needs. Businesses that send more than one employee receive discounts on our
partner and small group rates.

Tournaments and Races

Classika has plans for outdoor volleyball tournaments in the Lynchburg area
during the spring, summer, and fall. Soon it will also organize fun, innovative
races and other sports outlets for Classika clients. Check back for more details!

A note from Mark about value --

"Why personal training? Why not work out on my own?"

The number of people who are becoming members of fitness facilities increases
every year. According to industry statistics, in 2003 there were about 40
million
health club members in America. Clearly, there is interest in getting fit. However,
most self-service clubs operate on the basis that a large proportion of those who
sign up will not use the facility on a regular basis; many, many people pay for
memberships they don't use at all. Most of this is due to a) not knowing what to
do to craft an effective workout, b) getting fed up with overcrowded gyms geared
more toward getting a date than getting fit, c) poor service/equipment in the gym,
or d) quitting due to sheer inertia, boredom, and poor results, despite good
intentions. As for home gym equipment, how many times have you seen a
classified ad for an expensive piece of equipment being offered for sale -- barely
used? I would guess that 95 percent of home gym equipment goes unused
because it is so easy to get sidetracked at home.

Being a private personal training studio, Classika can help with all those
problems. If you want to get fit but are not seeing results that you'd like, don't
hesitate to talk with us about what we can do for you.

"I'd like to do personal training but it's too expensive."

There is certainly a cost to our service; the question is, what are you getting for
your money? Our clients believe they are getting a
good value. First, how much
will you pay for membership at a regular self-serve gym? How often will you use
that membership, and will you pay an initiation fee when you start? If you add up
how many times you actually use the gym in a month, you might find you are
paying more per visit than you thought! And that would be without the benefit of
a well-qualified trainer helping you toward all-around fitness. If you join a Classika
small group, you won't be paying much more than that while benefiting from
everything we have to offer.

"I'm already in good shape. I don't need a trainer."

True, not everyone needs a trainer but I do believe everyone could benefit from
an outsider's experienced perspective. The best athletes in the world have
trainers even though they have probably seen every workout in the book. But,
just as the wealthiest employ financial planners and wealth managers, so too do
the most fit seek out expert guidance. I certainly would not have tried some
excellent workouts and exercises if someone hadn't come along and basically
made me do them. And I have a fair number of clients who already are in good
shape but who fell into boring ruts and were looking for some new ideas and
accountability. Remember, personal training can be just a session or two to give
you some new ideas or it can be an ongoing relationship. It is really a flexible
system that is designed to benefit you in your particular circumstances.
