here in beautiful Lynchburg, Virginia, that engages solely in one-on-one,
partner, and small-group fitness training.

Beyond the purely physical benefits, the practice of intense, purposeful

succeeding in them. Classika is looking for clients who want more -- more
from themselves, more from their fitness regimen, and more from life. The
truth is, many people set worthwhile goals but encounter difficulties and quit
before realizing them. But worthwhile things take time and are difficult to
accomplish, whether it is learning a foreign language, picking up a new
musical instrument, or getting a body that looks great, performs excellently,

We can also help those who are already exercising by providing new ideas,
professional guidance, and accountability. We've seen a lot of crazy,
ineffective, and downright dangerous stuff in gyms. We can help you develop
a sound, safe, and effective exercise routine.
Classika Sport and Fitness is built around a few key ideas:
- Fitness is more than being thin. All-around fitness is a composite of
strength, balance, flexibility, agility, power, cardiovascular endurance,
muscular endurance, and anaerobic endurance. If you take nothing
else away from this, remember to not get stuck in a rut. Susie might
get on the treadmill and run, forgetting about strength. Steve might hit
the bench press and ignore everything else. Each is getting fit in only
one small aspect of fitness. If you come to us, we'll assess where you
need help and design a workout to balance you out.
- Exercise should be more similar to real life than dissimilar. What that
means is, since you generally move while on your feet, most of our
exercises are performed standing (sometimes called ground-based
training, or closed-chain exercise). Also, many exercises are full-body or
at least use large muscle groups and multiple joints. These are well-
established principles of training athletes, and it applies to you, too!
- Exercise should be goal-oriented. We keep track of what you do in
most sessions so we know whether you are making progress. While
we do vary the workouts, we don't want to lose sight of what your
primary goals are.
